Bengaluru: Services on Bengaluru’s Namma Metro Purple Line returned to normal after a major technical disruption left thousands of commuters stranded during peak hours, forcing some passengers to seek alternative transportation, including hitching rides on lorries and goods vehicles to reach their destinations.
The disruption occurred on the Purple Line, one of the busiest corridors in the Namma Metro network, connecting key parts of the city from east to west. The unexpected breakdown led to significant delays and overcrowding at several metro stations as passengers waited for services to resume.
