Amid ongoing tensions in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reportedly reduced the number of vehicles in his official convoy as part of efforts aimed at restraint and fuel conservation. However, former Intelligence Chief Samant Goel has expressed concerns over the move, saying the current global security environment does not support reducing protection measures.
Speaking on the issue, Goel said the international security situation remains highly volatile and pointed to recent attacks targeting US President Donald Trump in a country considered relatively secure as an example of growing threats.
He further stated that India continues to face active security challenges, particularly from neighbouring countries accused of sponsoring terrorism, and suggested that this may not be the appropriate time to scale down the Prime Minister’s security arrangements.stitution for the occasion, which coincides with the political transition taking place in Kerala.
