According to sources familiar with the probe, forensic analysis of the recovered device revealed contacts, transaction trails, and encrypted communication patterns pointing towards entities operating out of Karachi, Pakistan.
Investigators are now examining whether the financial channel was used for logistical support, movement coordination, or funding linked to militant operations in Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said one of the banking entities whose details surfaced during the investigation had previously appeared in intelligence assessments connected to suspicious cross-border transactions and alleged terror financing routes.
While authorities have not publicly disclosed the exact institution involved, agencies are reportedly coordinating with central intelligence and financial monitoring units to trace the transaction history and digital footprints associated with the recovered phone.
Security officials believe the findings could strengthen claims regarding external support networks operating behind militant activities in the Valley.
