'Disorder, Distrust, Dichotomy': Army Chief Says Power Politics Being Used To Reorganise Prosperity In World

Army Chief Highlights Global ‘Disorder and Distrust’ Amid Shifting Power Politics

Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Saturday said the world is witnessing growing “disorder, distrust and dichotomy” as global powers increasingly use political and economic influence to reshape international prosperity and strategic balance.

Speaking at a key event, the Army Chief pointed out that geopolitical tensions, regional conflicts and economic competition are creating uncertainty across nations. He stressed that power politics is now being used not only for military dominance but also to reorganise global economic opportunities and influence.

General Dwivedi noted that emerging security challenges, technological competition and changing alliances are transforming the global landscape rapidly. He said countries must remain prepared to deal with both conventional and non-conventional threats in an increasingly interconnected world.

The Army Chief also underlined the importance of strong national security, self-reliance and strategic partnerships to safeguard India’s interests amid evolving global dynamics. He emphasised that peace and stability can only be achieved through mutual trust, cooperation and respect for international norms.

His remarks come at a time when ongoing global conflicts, economic uncertainty and shifting geopolitical equations are impacting international relations and security strategies worldwide.
