Delhi To Gurgaon Among World’s Hottest Cities Today, Temperature Soars To 46°C
Several Indian cities, including Delhi and Gurgaon, ranked among the world’s top 100 hottest places on Sunday as extreme heatwave conditions pushed temperatures close to 46 degrees Celsius across northern India.
The intense summer heat has affected daily life in multiple regions, with weather agencies warning people to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours. Delhi, Gurgaon and nearby areas witnessed scorching temperatures accompanied by hot winds, making outdoor conditions extremely uncomfortable.
According to weather reports, rising heat levels have increased pressure on electricity demand, water supply and public health systems. Hospitals have also advised citizens to stay hydrated and take precautions against heatstroke and dehydration.
Meteorologists said dry weather conditions and strong heatwave patterns across northwest India are contributing to the unusually high temperatures. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely as forecasts indicate that several parts of the country may continue to experience severe heat over the coming days.
Experts have linked recurring extreme heat events to changing climate patterns and rapid urbanisation, especially in densely populated metropolitan regions.
Residents have been advised to remain indoors during afternoon hours, wear light clothing and drink plenty of fluids as temperatures continue to remain dangerously high.
