At this stage, the IAF has not released any preliminary findings, and the cause remains under investigation.
About the AN-32
The AN-32 is a twin-engine military transport aircraft widely used by the IAF for carrying troops, equipment, and supplies, particularly in high-altitude and remote regions of Northeast India and the Himalayas. India continues to operate around 100 of these aircraft.
The Jorhat crash is the latest in a series of notable AN-32 incidents, including the 2019 crash in Arunachal Pradesh that killed all 13 personnel on board.
The viral CCTV footage has drawn widespread attention online, but officials have urged caution against speculating about the cause until the Court of Inquiry completes its investigation.
