National Investigation Agency has reportedly arrested US national Matthew VanDyke along with six Ukrainian nationals in connection with an alleged unauthorized drone warfare training network that has triggered serious national security concerns.
According to investigative sources, the arrests were made following intelligence inputs regarding specialized drone combat and tactical warfare training activities being conducted without proper authorization. Authorities are examining whether the programme violated Indian security regulations, aviation rules, and laws governing foreign involvement in sensitive defence-related activities.
Investigators claim the operation involved advanced drone handling techniques, battlefield simulation exercises, surveillance systems, and tactical coordination modules that raised concerns among security agencies. The accused individuals were reportedly operating from multiple locations while conducting workshops and training sessions linked to modern drone warfare strategies.
Officials stated that the probe is focused on understanding the purpose of the training, the intended recipients, funding sources, digital communication networks, and possible international connections associated with the programme.
Matthew VanDyke is known internationally for his involvement in conflict-zone reporting, military consulting, and defence-related training initiatives in different parts of the world.
