Kannada star Upendra’s pan-Indian ambitious project titled UI has hit the theatres today. In a freewheeling exclusive conversation with CNN-News18 Showsha’s Titas Chowdhury, Upendra – known as ‘Real Star’ – talks about how he had first conceived the idea of UI back in the mid-2000s, what took so long to execute it and the super success of Pushpa 2. He further expresses his admiration for ‘perfectionist’ Aamir Khan and Allu Arjun who extended their support to UI. His leading lady Reeshma also sheds light on Upendra’s crazy vision that led to the birth of ahead-of-its-time content such as ‘A’ and ‘Upendra’ and how he took Kannada cinema to big heights even before Kantara and KGF.
