India’s Kishore Jena produced a personal best of 84.38m, which is also a meet record, to win the men’s javelin throw competition as Shivpal came in second with an attempt of 77.36m. Experienced quarter-miler Poovamma returned to action following her ban as she finished second in heat number one.
