Netanyahu Slams ICC Arrest Warrant, US Rejects “Flawed Process”, Orban Invites Bibi to Hungary
The Hungarian premier Viktor Orban announced that he will invite his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu to Hungary despite the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) yesterday against him and the former Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant. Orban said this in his usual Friday interview with the broadcaster “Radio Kossuth”. “We have no choice but to challenge this decision,” the Hungarian prime minister explained. Orban can guarantee Netanyahu that “the ruling of the International Criminal Court will have no effect” if he comes to Hungary.According to a statement yesterday, the Hague court unanimously issued two decisions rejecting the Jewish state’s appeals regarding the court’s jurisdiction “over the situation in the State of Palestine in general and over Israeli citizens in particular” and Tel Aviv’s request “to discontinue all proceedings before the Court in the situation in question, including the consideration of the requests for arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant, filed by the Prosecutor’s Office on May 20, 2024.”The ICC has issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant “for crimes against humanity and war crimes committed from at least October 8, 2023, until at least May 20, 2024,” the statement said. The court finds that “the alleged conduct of Netanyahu and Gallant falls within [its] jurisdiction.” án n18oc_world n18oc_crux
