Iran-Linked Hackers ‘Breach Israeli Spy Front, Collect 40 Tb of Data on Mossad, Unit 8200’
An Iranian-linked hacker group claims to have obtained a trove of documents that purportedly name hundreds of Israeli spies. Handala– named after a symbolic Palestinian cartoon character– has claimed a slew of cyber attacks in response to killing of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh. On Nov 24, the hacker group claimed to have infiltrated Silicom, an Israeli firm it alleges serves as a front for Unit 8200, the Israeli military’s elite cyber unit, and the Mossad.
