Government Says No Information on Abhijeet Dipke’s Visa or Deportation Status Ahead of Delhi Protest

Ahead of a proposed protest in Delhi by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), the Government of India said it has no official information regarding activist and CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke’s visa status or any alleged deportation from the United States. The clarification came during a Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) media briefing on Friday amid growing speculation over Dipke’s return to India.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal responded to questions from reporters about whether American authorities had informed India about any visa misuse or deportation proceedings involving Dipke. According to the government, no such communication has been received so far.

The controversy gained attention as Dipke is expected to lead a major demonstration at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The protest, organized by the rapidly emerging Cockroach Janta Party, is aimed at demanding accountability over several education-related controversies, including allegations linked to examination irregularities and the NEET-UG paper leak issue.

Dipke, who has built a significant following on social media, had earlier claimed that he feared arrest upon arrival in India. In recent interviews, he alleged that authorities could detain him immediately after landing in Delhi. Reports also suggested that his family temporarily moved from their home in Maharashtra to an undisclosed location, though family members denied receiving any direct threats.

During the same briefing, the government shared broader data on deportations of Indian nationals from the United States. Officials stated that 1,076 Indians have been deported from the US so far in 2026, compared to 3,567 deportations recorded during the previous year. The MEA added that India and the United States continue discussions on migration and mobility, focusing on curbing illegal migration while protecting legitimate travel and education opportunities.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police reportedly said that formal permission for the planned protest had not yet been granted at the time of the announcement. Organizers, however, have appealed for a peaceful gathering and said necessary approvals are being sought.

The episode has triggered widespread debate online, with supporters portraying Dipke as a youth voice challenging the system, while critics have questioned the movement’s methods and intentions. As the protest unfolds, attention remains focused on whether the activist will arrive in India without legal complications and how authorities will respond to the growing public mobilisation.
