Duleep Trophy: Ankur Malik shines for North East Zone on Day 3

After their batsmen had played their part in declaring their opening essay at 590-2, West Zone’s bowlers came to the fore to bowl out North East Zone for 235 in the first innings on Day 3 of their Duleep Trophy clash at Chepauk on Saturday. Medium-pacer Chintan Gaja (4-38) and left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat (3-35) played a major role in West Zone taking a 355-run first innings. West Zone chose not to enforce the follow-on and were 12 for 1 at stumps. For the North East Zone, their biggest positive arrived in the form of Ankur Malik who top-scored with 81.
