| In a significant boost to India’s defense capabilities and the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, the Cabinet Committee on Security has approved a ₹7,000 crore deal to procure advanced towed artillery gun systems for the Indian Army. Developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), these gun systems have a strike range of 45-48 km and will be manufactured in India, promoting homegrown manufacturing capabilities.
