Army gets first batch of made-in-India grenades

The first batch of one lakh multi-mode hand grenades – the country’s first ever fully indigenous ammunition made by a private company – was handed over to the Army by defence minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday. The multimode grenade, manufactured by Nagpur-based Economic Explosives Ltd (EEL), is set to replace the M36, a World War II design grenade made at the Ordnance Factory.
