The move is expected to strengthen India’s self-reliance in defence manufacturing and address the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) pressing needs for modern fighter jets.The LCA Tejas programme has been a cornerstone of India’s defence modernisation efforts, with the aircraft designed to replace the ageing MiG-21 fleet. With over 40 improvements, the Tejas Mark 1A variant boasts advanced features, including a new avionic suite, EL/M-2052 AESA Radar, and Uttam AESA Radar.
