"Any Arrangement" Trump Leaves Door Open, Iran Hardliners Slam Pezeshkian For 'Abandoning' Soleimani

Iran’s hardliners slammed the country’s president for his recent statements on US President-elect Donald Trump. President Masoud Pezeshkian in an interview to US media outlet on Jan. 14, denied Iran’s intention to assassinate Trump.Speaking to NBC News, Pezeshkian dismissed accusations that Iran planned to avenge the killing of IRGC commander Qassem Soleimani. Gen. Soleimani was killed in Baghdad in 2020 in a US drone strike which Trump ordered during his first term in office. Pezeshkian said that there was no plot “whatsoever” by Tehran to assassinate the US president-elect. Pezeshkian’s denial came after the US Justice Department in November charged an Iranian man in an alleged murder-for-hire effort to kill Trump. His stance was in sharp contrast from multiple threats Iranian officials have made against Trump and his former secretary of state. n18oc_world n18oc_crux0:00 INTRODUCTION1:58 “MR.
