Over 50 Killed As Earthquake Strikes Tibet’s Shigatse City, Xi Jinping Orders All Out Rescue Effort
More than 50 people were killed after an earthquake of magnitude 7.1 struck Tibet’s holy Shigatse City. The epicentre of the earthquake was in Tingri county in Shigatse city. Tingri is about 400 km southwest of Tibet’s capital Lhasa and is on the border with Nepal. Two more earthquakes hit the region shortly after the first one. Chinese President Xi Jinping has ordered “all-out” rescue efforts to save lives and minimise casualties. n18oc_world n18oc_crux
