Kim Seeks ‘Limitless’ Nukes, Slams US Support for Ukraine; China ‘Will Not Sit Idly’ Xi Tells Biden
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un urged a “limitless” expansion of his nuclear programme to counter US-led threats. Kim also slammed the US for enhancing nuclear deterrence with South Korea and strengthening ties with Japan, likening it to an “Asian NATO.” Kim made the comments at a conference with army officials on Nov. 15, as per the North’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). This marked Kim’s first direct criticism of Washington since Donald Trump’s US presidential win. Kim called the Korean peninsula “the world’s biggest hotspot,” blaming US-led threats for tensions reaching “the worst phase in history.”
