The former members of banned outfit Jamaat-e-Islami are contesting Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls for the first time after 1987. They had been part of separatist amalgam Hurriyat Conference, advocating poll boycotts and have been accused of fomenting terrorism and anti-India propaganda for fueling secessionism in Jammu and Kashmir. Ieshan Wani travelled to south Kashmir to meet these candidates.
