Salma Hayek cries at soccer matches
The Savages actress is a huge fan of the sport and whenever she watches it she experiences every emotion, from anger to joy, desperation to elation.
She said: “I really enjoy a good football match. I adore it. I know I should be saying, ‘I love my shopping sprees’, but that’s what I like. I love soccer. It’s something that ignites my fire. I become very, very passionate and, at the same time, very emotional about it. I’m tough, but it’s one of the few things that can make me cry.”
Salma Hayek also confessed she does on occasions verbally abuse the referees but has stopped shouting at the officials at live matches and saves her fury for the comfort of her own home.
The Mexican beauty toned down her behaviour because she lives in France with her French businessman husband Francois-Henri Pinault and their five-year-old daughter Valentina and crowds in the European nation are less passionate than in South America.
In an interview with Stylist magazine, she said: “I shout at the referees when I’m watching TV at home but when we go to games the French are so very composed, and I’m not. I saw pictures of myself on the internet, and everybody made fun of me, so now when I go, I try not to move a muscle. I almost prefer to watch it at home where I can drink my beer, be in my pyjamas and insult them, in Spanish, in English and, if necessary, in French.”
