I just want some importance from Aaradhya: Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan may be idolized by the whole of India but what the doting grandfather really wants is attention from Abhishek and Aishwarya’s nine-month-old bundle of joy, Aaradhya.

He confessed as much when he said, “The only thing that I want her to do right now is that she should start giving us some importance and realise that I am her grandfather. The only thing that she has been able to understand, according to me, is that this bearded person is going to play an important role in her life. She keeps playing with my beard.”

“She hasn’t started speaking until now. She is trying but hasn’t started speaking till now. As far as I know, she doesn’t trouble at nights. But yes she keeps Aishwarya and Abhishek awake for a while,” said Mr Bachchan.

The 69-year-old actor was speaking to reporters during the promotions of his game show Kaun Banega Crorepati 6 (KBC), in Mumbai.

Aaradhya seems to have effortlessly wrapped the senior Bachchans around her little finger. Earlier, doting Dadi Jaya had gushed about the tiny tot in an interview to BBC, saying: “She is always smiling. Touchwood. Now she’s trying to crawl and it’s special to us.”

Mrs Bachchan also said her nickname for Aaradhya is “Strawberry” and that she looks like both her parents, a bit like Ash and a bit like Abhishek.

Aaradhya, who was born on November 16 last year, is currently reported to be with her parents in Chicago where Abhishek is shooting for Dhoom 3.
